We are looking for an experienced wholesale sales manager with a track record of success in Junior and Missy outerwear and sportswear to join our team. You will be reporting directly to the executive vice president and president of the company. As an account executive, you will be responsible for owning the sales strategy and day-to-day management of youJunior and Missy accounts. You will also be responsible for continuously building trust and relationships between our company and our retail partners and driving significant short term and long term profitable growth for the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to achieve company revenue, profitability, and growth targets in Junior and Missy outerwear and sportswear.
- Drive and profitably grow branded and private label business channels for both yourself and your team
- Oversee 2 direct reports in sales forecasts, prospecting, account profitability, revenue growth, and new customer acquisitions
- Maintain and build strong relationships with your key accounts
- Prospect for new accounts
- Identity and develop new business opportunities for the company with current and prospective retail partners
- Oversee special projects for customer specific development
- Own budgeting and forecasting for account base with a high level of accuracy.
- Monitor and own upfront and in season sales and financial performance, identifying and escalate areas of opportunity and risk.
- Report out weekly on account performance and provide recommendations to drive business forward.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to achieve overall business objectives. Including design, costing, production, and technical design teams
- Consistently monitor trends and the retailer landscape to partner with merchandising and design team on assortment development and creation utilizing data, customer feedback, and marketplace trend analysis(retailing) to inform line creation process.
- Visit account and prospective account retail locations to stay up to date of product assortments, and identity new opportunities
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Travel to customers, prospects, and tradeshows as needed
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience with national and international apparel retailers, including but not limited to department stores, clubs, specialty retailers, and ecommerce businesses
- 5+ years of experience with private label accounts
- 5+ years managing high performing apparel sales teams
- Proven track record of generating profitable and measurable business growth in previous roles
- A relentless drive to succeed
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Must be willing to roll up their sleeves and be comfortable with changing priorities.
- Expert level of proficiency in retail math, OTBs, and forecasting
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite of products
- Adhere to regular in-office presence, including in-person team interaction, meetings, mentoring, and collaboration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by ownership as business needs change
- Must have authorization to work in the United States.
